Apparel Production Calculation of Sewing Line:
In readymade apparel industry, garments production or productivity can be calculated by using the below formula. Here, some important formula also has shown which are necessary to calculate Input-hour, Output-hour and Indirect productivity of apparel sewing line.
Productivity or production per hour in the sewing line,
= (Number of garments produced per hour / Number of working hours)
Example:
A production line of Abonty Fashion Limited works with 45 operators for 10 hours a day and produces 1400pcs dress shirts. The shirt has a standard time of 1000 seconds. Calculate productivity of the line.
Solution:
Here,
No. Of operator= 45,
No. of garments produced per hour= 1400pcs,
Standard time = 1000 seconds,
Total working hour= 10,
Now,
Input-hour in seconds,
= Number of operator’s × Number of hours worked × Number of seconds in an hour
= 45 × 10 × 3600
= 1620000 seconds.
Again,
Output-hour in seconds,
= Number of garments produced × standard time in seconds
= 1400 × 1000
= 1400000 seconds.
Now,
Indirect productivity= {(Output-hour / input-hour) × 100}
= {(1400000 / 1620000) × 100}
= 86.42%
So,
Productivity or production per hour in the sewing line,
= (Number of garments produced per hour / Number of working hours)
= (1400/10)
= 140pcs per hour.
So,
Apparel productivity or production per hour in the sewing line of Abonty Fashion Limited is 140pcs.
