Winding Production Formula:
Winding is one of the important process in textile weaving. This article has presented all the important formulas of winding calculation. By using these you can solve all the mathematical problems of winding process.
Winding calculation formula in weaving |
Different Formulas of Winding Calculation in Weaving:
1. Time required,
Quantity of yarn in pound to be wound
= ……………………………………………………………………….…………………………………..
Actual production in pound per hour × Number of drums
Or,
Quantity of yarn in hank
= ……………………………………………………………………………..
Actual production in hank × No. of drums
Or,
Quantity of yarn in pound × Yarn count
=……………………………………………………………………….……..
Actual production in hank × No. of drums
2. Actual production,
= {(Calculated production in yds × efficiency)/840} hank
Or,
= {(Calculated production in hank/count of yarn) × efficiency} pound
Or,
= (Calculated production in yds × efficiency) yds
3. Calculated production in yds per minute,
= ∏×D×N
4. Actual production in pound per hour,
= (Actual production in hank/Count of yarn)
5. Number of drums required,
Quantity of yarn to wound in pound
= ……………………………………………………………………………………………………..………..
Time required × Actual production in pound per hour per drum
Or,
Quantity of yarn to wound in lbs
= ……………………………………………………….………………
Actual production per drum per hour
6. No. of spindles for weft to loom,
Total quantity of weft in hank per hour × No. of loom
=…………………………………………………………………………………………………
Actual production in hanks per spindle
7. Winding efficiency,
= ((Actual production/ Calculated production) ×100}
Examples of Winding Calculation:
Example-01:
The calculated rate of winding machine based on actual measurement of a modern high speed fully automatic pirn winder is 552 yds per minute. If the production per day of 8 hours per spindle is 14 pounds of 20s yarn then calculate winding efficiency.
Solution:
We know,
Winding efficiency= ((Actual production/ Calculated production) ×100} …………….. (1)
Now,
Calculated production per spindle per hour= (552×60) yds= 33120 yds,
Actual production per spindle per hour= {(14×20×840)/8} yds= 29400 yds,
Now, from (1) we get,
Winding efficiency,
= {(29400/33120) ×100}
= 88.77%
So, winding efficiency is 88.77%
Example-02:
How many drums should require winding 1000 pounds of 24s cotton yarn in 12 hours if the production (actual) per drum per minute is 560 yds.
Solution:
Here,
Quantity of yarn= 1000 lbs,
Count= 24s,
Time= 12 hrs,
Actual production per minute= 560 yds,
No. of drum=?
So,
Number of drum,
Quantity of yarn in pound × yarn count
=………………………………………………………………………………………….. (1)
Actual production in hank × Time
Now,
Actual production per hour in hank= {(560×60)/840} hank= 40 hank
Finally, from (1), we get,
Number of drum,
1000×24
=……………….………
40×12
= 50
So, drum required here 50.
