What is Output-Hour in Apparel or Clothing Industry?
In the apparel manufacturing sector, output-hour is the volume of apparel production in pieces multiplied by standard time and then divided by 3600, where standard time is expressed in seconds.
Method of Output Hours Calculation of Sewing Line in Apparel Sector:
Output-hour of sewing line,
= {(Number of garments × standard time in seconds)/3600}

Example-01:
In Farzana fashion limited, a production line produced a 1200 pcs dress shirt in 10 hours. The standard time of the dress shirt is 1000 seconds. Calculate output-hour of sewing line in that factory.
Solution:
Here,
Number of garments= 1200pcs,
Standard time= 1000 seconds.
So,
Output-hour of sewing line,
= {(Number of garments × standard time in seconds)/3600}
= {(1200×1000)/3600}
= 333.33
So, output-hours of sewing line for Farzana fashion limited is 333.33
Example-02:
A production line of Faria fashion wears limited produced 200 dozen T-shirts in 10 hours. The standard time for the T-shirt is 200 seconds. Estimate output-hour of the sewing line.
Solution:
No. of apparel= 200 dozen= (200 ×12) = 2400pcs,
Standard time= 200 seconds
So,
Output-hour of sewing line,
= {(Number of garments × standard time in seconds)/3600}
= {(2400×200)/3600}
= 133.33
So, output-hours of sewing line for Faria fashion wear limited is 133.33
Example-03:
In Tithi fashion point, a production line produced 100 jackets in 10 hours. The standard time of the jackets is 600 seconds. Calculate the output-hour of that sewing line.
Solution:
No. of garments= 100,
Standard time= 6000 seconds
So,
Output-hour of sewing line,
= {(No. of garments × standard time in seconds)/3600}
= {(100×6000)/3600}
= 166.66
So, output-hours of sewing line for Tithi fashion point is 166.66
Example-04:
In Mustakim fashion view, a production line which produced 500 jackets in 10 hours. The standard time of the jackets is 600 seconds. Calculate the output-hour of that sewing line.
Solution:
No. of garments= 500,
Standard time= 6000 seconds
So,
Output-hour of sewing line,
= {(No. of garments × standard time in seconds)/3600}
= {(500×6000)/3600}
= 833.33
So, output-hours of sewing line for Mustakim fashion view is 833.33
