Circular Knitting Production Calculation Method in Textile:
To calculate production capacity of circular knitting machine in textile industry, the below formula has to follow:

Production in weight (kg) per hour,

∏×D×G× RPM of cylinder × Number of feeder × loop length in mm × tex×60× efficiency

Where,
D= Cylinder dia in inch,
G= Machine gauge in inch,

Now, I will present here some examples of knit fabric production calculation which will help you to understand the above formula.

Example-01:
Calculate the production of a single jersey circular knitting machine in kg per shift from the below data:

Machine gauge= 18,
Machine cylinder diameter= 30 inch,
Machine cylinder RPM= 38,
Loop length= 2 mm,
Number of feeder= 80,
Yarn count= 70 tex,
Efficiency= 95%,
Time (shift) = 8 hours.

Solution:
Here,
Time (shift) = (60×8) hour = 480 hour,
Efficiency= 95%=0.95,
Production in kg per hour=?

So,
Production in weight (kg) per hour,
∏×D×G× RPM of cylinder × Number of feeder × loop length in mm × tex×60× efficiency

3.14×30×18×38×80×2×70×480×0.95
=………………………………………………….

= 329.07 kg per shift

So, production of single jersey circular knitting machine per shift is 329.07kg.

Example-02:
Following the below data, calculate the knit fabric production calculation per day of a circular knitting machine.

Machine diameter= 30 inch,
Machine gauge in inch= 20,
Number of feeder= 85,
Yarn count= 28 Ne,
Cylinder RPM= 30,
Loop length or stitch length= 2 mm,
Time= 1 day.

Solution:
Here,
Machine efficiency= 85%=0.85,
Time= 1 day= (24×60) hour= 1440 hours

So,
Production in kg per day,
∏×D×G× RPM of cylinder × Number of feeder × loop length in mm × tex×60× efficiency

Now,
Ne × Tex= 590.5
Or, Tex= (590.5/Ne) = (590.5/28) = 21.09

Now, from equation (1), we get,

= 248.03 kg

So, fabric production of circular knitting machine is 248.03kg
