How to Calculate Loom Production of Weaving in Textile?

Loom Production Calculation in Weaving:

A loom cannot be said a machine but it is a device that is mainly used for producing woven fabric in the textile industry. Loom production calculation is very important to produce woven fabric by reducing yarn wastages. As its importance, this article has presented an easy method for calculating loom production with its examples.

Loom Production Calculation Process Followed in Textile Weaving:

The following formula has to follow to calculate loom production in textile weaving technology.

Loom production in meter per hour,
    PPM × Number of loom × Time × Efficiency
=……………………………………………………………
                     PPI × 39.37× 100

The above formula will be cleared if you follow the below examples.

Example-01:
If 50 no. looms run for 5 days with 95% efficiency in Nabila Weaving Factory, then calculate loom production in meter, where PPI and PPM are 60 and 380 respectively.

Solution:
Given that,
PPI= 60,
PPM= 380,
Number of loom= 50,
Time= 5 days= (5×24×60) hour= 7200 hours
Efficiency= 95%

So,
Loom production in meter per 5 days,
    PPM × Number of loom × Time × Efficiency
=……………………………………………………………

                       PPI × 39.37× 100

   380×50×7200×95
=……………………………

   60×39.37×100

= 55016.51m

So, loom production for Nabila Weaving Factory is 55016.51m per 5 days.

Example-02:
In Rahela Weaving and Finishing Ltd. 15 looms produced 150000m fabrics for 30days. Find out the weaving efficiency of this factory if PPM and PPI are 600 and 60 respectively.

Solution:
Here,
Number of looms= 15,
Production per 30 days= 150000m,
Time= 30 days= (30×24×60) hour= 43200 hours,
PPM= 600,
PPI= 60,
Weaving efficiency=?

So,
Loom production in meter per 30 days,
    PPM × No. of looms × Time × Efficiency
=………………………………………………………
                   PPI × 39.37× 100
Or,
Efficiency,
    PPI × 39.37× 100× Loom production in meter per 30 days
=……………………………………………………………………………….

                         PPM × No. of looms × Time

   60×39.37×100×150000
=………………………………….

         600×15×43200

= 91.13%

So, weaving efficiency in Rahela Weaving and Finishing Ltd. stands at 91.13%
